THE TAU CROSS

The Cross of Tau, named after the Greek letter it resembles, is a form of the Christian Cross symboI. It is also variously St. Anthony's Cross, Old Testament Cross, Anticipatory Cross, Cross Commissee, Egyptian Cross, Advent Cross, Croce taumata, Saint Francis's Cross, Crux Commissa. The shape of the letter tau or T was interpreted as representing a crucifix from antiquity. The tau was also considered a symbol of salvation due to the identification of the tau with the sign which in Ezechiel 9:4 was marked on the forehead of the saved ones

Anthony of Egypt bore a cross in the form of a tau on his cloak.

The Tau Cross is most commonly used in reference to the Franciscan Order and Saint Francis of Assisi, who adopted it as his personal coat of arms after hearing Pope Innocent III talk about the Tau symbol It is now used as a symbol of the Franciscan Order.

THE YALE

represents pride, protection

A fabulous beast with a frightful appearance is a goat, with boar style tusks, and very large Ibex-type horns, that some say could rotate in any direction. The Yale was first written about by Pliny the Elder. It then passed into medieval heraldry, where it is said to represent pride, protection, and defense of one’s kin heedless from which direction enemies loomed. It was used by the British Royal Family as a supporter for the arms of John, Duke of Bedford, and others.

THE WOODPECKER

The Woodpecker is the guardian of the forest and heralds the rain and storms. Since Picas the Roman god of agriculture was famous for his divination skills and was associated with the Woodpecker, this bird became a symbol of prophecy.

THE GREAT HORNED OWL

The great horned owl (Bubo virginianus), also known as the tiger owl (originally derived from early naturalists' description as the "winged tiger" or "tiger of the air") or the hoot owl, is a large owl native to the Americas. It is an extremely adaptable bird with a vast range and is the most widely distributed true owl in the Americas.[3] would make me rank these winged tigers among the most pronounced and savage of the birds of prey Its primary diet appears to be rabbits and hares, rats and mice and voles, although it freely hunts any animal it can overtake, primarily other rodents and small mammals, but also larger mid-sized mammals, various birds, reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates. In ornithological study, the great horned owl is often compared to the Eurasian eagle owl (Bubo bubo), a closely related species which, despite the latter's notably larger size, occupies the same ecological niche in Eurasia, and the red-tailed hawk (Buteo jamaicensis), with which it often shares similar habitat, prey and nesting habits by day and is thus something of a diurnal ecological equivalent.[5] The great horned owl is one of the earliest nesting birds in North America, often laying eggs weeks or even months before other raptorial birds.

Corel Draw Logo

We are leaving this help tip up, as more and more of you are upgrading

your Corel Draw software to X3 or X4 or X6

Corel Draw has changed some default settings in X3 and X4 that can render your vector images black, do the same for your F9 preview and in the case of X4 display your image excessively dark.

Fixes:

  • Top Command Bar/View Select 'enhanced' and not 'enhanced with overprints';

  • Top Command Bar/Tools/Color Management Color Mode for Effects-should be set at RGB (not CMYK);

  • Top Command Bar/Tools Select 'Save Settings as default' ;

  • When importing AG graphics into X4, make sure you first group your image before using the F9 full screen preview (X3 imports the graphic already grouped).
